Default Faded tyres

What is the best product on the market for bright black looking tyres? I've tried spray but it soon fades. Thankyou.

Meguires Endurance Tyre gel. Lasts for weeks and makes them glossy and black.

I'll third it.

Apply sparingly though. I use an old sponge, one of those kitchen pots & pan things

Lots out there and i have tested a few on detailing world.
Endurance is popular cheap little needed but does attract sand etc well it sticks to it a good deal.

Most will last week to 2 week, can last longer on undriven wheels but you would be needing to do the driven wheels anyway.

Testing finds the driven wheels fade fastest and the actual side wall pattern affects the look greatly.

I think my next will be a bulk 5lt of Autoglym #5.

Best longevity will be from cleaning the side walls for best clean dry base... use APC or a degreaser.

You really need to put it on VERY thinly. If you do that it wont attract dust etc

If the tyres need a bit of a replenishing then put it on thickly overnight, then remove as such as you can the next day with a sponge. A bottle could last years.

The Bottle Certainly can last a fair while.
Currently have...

Meguiars Endurane
Autoglym Tyre Dressing
Mer Tyre Dressing
Car Plan Tyre Slick
Chemical Guys New look Gel
Carplan complete trim and bumper shine, can be used on side walls
CarPro Perl can be diluted for tyre walls also.

Many years ago at a talk given by a representative of a major tyre manufacturer, we were advised not to bother with any of the tyre dressings and simply apply ordinary black shoe polish using brushes. I followed his advice and have used it for 26 years on my Rover P4. There is no mess, it's cheap and after a couple of polishes you get a good shine.

Yeah that works to, although it doesnt give the gloss some people desire.

Some prefer gloss some matt and there are products that cater for all.

The modern products are a lot better and safer and a lot are water based now...
