500ml bottle of Autoglym resign polish is £10.99 at Halfords but with the 3 for 2 offer makes it not to bad.

Default Meguiars all the way

I've used Meguiars exclusively on my classic Mini auto since I got it 2 years ago and won best in class at a couple of shows.

It also makes the ZT come up with a really deep shine.

The hairpin alloys are a pain though: too much of the spray ends up on the brakes, so I tend to spray it on to a lint free cloth and rub it on to the wheels that way.

I used to use Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection then moved on to Meguiars Gold Class and NXT products. I've used Poorboy's products for a while now and offerings from Menzerna, Mothers and Optimum.

I use Carlack-68 acrylic sealant as a base coat. Some of you may know it as Klasse All In One. It removes surface contaminants and lays down a micro-thin acrylic layer that protects the surface of the paint for about 6 months. It makes the car really easy to wash and the after wash shine is immaculate.

Over the top of this I apply Optimum Car Wax after each wash. It sounds like a bit of a Halford's bargain bin special but its imported from the USA and is well respected in detailing circles. Its a spray wax/sealant combination and you'd be pretty amazed at the results it gives you on a light coloured car. This wax builds depth and clarity with each application, I'm very impressed with it.

If you get the preparation right, your car will come up like new after nothing more than a wash.

I use the following places for detailing products, may be of some use to you:

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk (some excellent guides on this site).

Yes, used it once and once only. Didn't think much of it.

I've got a bottle in the shed which I have only used a few times, I thought it was rubbish too.

Thanks for that one in particular Ross, I've read loads of guides in the past but the ones on that site are particularly interesting.

Just need to work my way through the EGP and Harly's I've got now as quickly as possible so I've got an excuse to try some new products like the Poorboys stuff

I've used Polished Bliuss a few times and they are excellent - a thumbs up from me. Might be worth someone from this site seeing if they will do some sort of discount for us

I know Rich from the old SEAT Enthusiasts forum. He has a kitted Leon 1.6S. Back then he didn't discount as polished bliss was still in its infancy. His approach was that his products were as cheap as he could make them and due to the fact that he sells almost exclusively through forums, he couldn't give forum discount as he'd have no profit left.

Still, might be worth asking though. IMO there's nobody who knows his stuff better. Tell him your car colour and he'll recommend the best products for your particular colour and paint finish.

Yes so if you need the 25 litre products like traffic film remover I can get it. We can get everything in the Autoglym range including the LIFESHINE protection package although that is done through me at Executive Valeting.
