My recently acquired v8 developed a cooling leak, so a look under the bonnet revealed nothing, but a look underneath showed coolant on the rear of the subframe.
I moved one of the 2 heater pipes and there was a little hiss followed by a glug glug sound. The pipe had split just above the jubilee clip, so the pipe was trimmed and refitted, but a new pipe will be ordered to replace this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is one heater pipe on the 260 that is a known problem and the 260's club can supply a silicone replacement.

Gave the old girl a very badly required clean, I love snow foam, and a quick polish which soon had her gleaming.
However my MG7 cluster has been a bit dull of late so decided to change that out and, my God, if ever there's a fiddly job involving the smallest NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- screws in the world I don't want to do again or anytime soon it's just that!!!!!! No-one died in the changing of this cluster however I'm very glad there was no young children or ladies within ear-shot of my garage

Removed the carpet from my low mileage V6, what a struggle. However should be much easier to refit as will only weigh a quarter as it does now once the water evaporates.
Looking at the little patches on the inside of the sills and thinking of removing some to check sill condition and spray in some waxoil or similar. |

35th Yorkshire Classic Vehicle Show, Ripley Castle
Tarted her up prior to exhibiting at the 35th Yorkshire Classic Vehicle Show at Ripley Castle tomorrow.
While vacuuming the carpets I managed to dislodge one of the airbag sensors, with the resultant fault light, but a bit of under seat fiddling about solved the problem. All levels and tyre pressures checked, This will be her first decent run, its 73 miles each way, since acquiring her late last September, during which time she has only clocked up about 750 miles. This must be a popular event as it was fully booked for, and closed to, further classic entries on May 14th, |

The lovely sunny weekend managed to dry the carpets out so I set about refitting them this afternoon.
Just a good clean of the seats and the rest of the interior to do now.

Looking good Andy - my favourite interior colour!
Had a lovely drive in mine today. Hit the M25 at J12 and set the cruise control. Stayed on cruise until coming off at J21 for the M1. Hardly any traffic - it was a pleasure and took me back 40 odd years when the roads were far quieter. The M1 was pretty much deserted too. 227 miles in well under 4 hours can't be bad. Had to get up at 5am mind but that's work for you. |
