Buying the kit is not a major problem.
Current KB price is $4,999 for the intercooler kit.

After customs you'll be looking at roughly £4,400 just as Mick said.

Installation is a bit involved and should take a couple of days, including the intercooler and all the pipe work.

Most important thing is to get the map right as already pointed out.
Some have successfully done a self-install, some didn't go that well.

So £4,400 for the kit, say £1,600 in labour to have it done + £500 for the map and your're looking at £6,500 without any profit for the installer.

Add the time and money spend to develop a safe map and £7,500 - £8,000 is a justifiable price.

As said, some have carried out the conversion with success themselves, others haven't and ended up with expensive repairs.

Thankfully there is a choice and it's up to the individual to either install themselves or go the tried and tested route.

BTW. Pro-charger will be a struggle to fit, if possible at all.

There is choice out there, prochargers work but I don't think you'd like the end result.
My KB supercharger kit cost 4.4k delivered and as for mapping costs I bought my own SCT programmer so I've got selectable maps.
I think you might become my new best friend lol.

Default supercharging

8k for the kit to be fitted and drive away happy is a fair price, compare it to some of the kits available for other cars and there all in the same price range.
I wouldn't like to guess at the amount of money that's gone into my engine, bigger injectors, smaller pulleys, redesigned fuel system, etc, etc and I'm still not satisfied LOL.
The KB kit running at 400bhp sort of makes the car what it should of been from the start, there's very little difference in fuel consumption (from what I remember ).
Justifying the cost of doing it either way to your other half is hardest part

190 don't do it LOL it's a slippery slope

For me it's the noise it makes. The noise of that engine just sends shivers up my spine.

Good thing is it does that even without the S/C

Car is fast enough for daily use.

Strange that 6.3 sec to 60mph is considered underpowered.
Weird that 155mph top speed seems inadequate

For a 1700kg car I think it's impressive.

But if I had £7,000 it would go to a Yamaha V-Max again..............and not a S/C
