Default Woolwich Shooting. George Medals

The local Rev Jesse V. for Woolwich is petitioning The Ministry of Defence H.Q for the 3 ladies to receive the award.

On 22 May, a lady and her daughter comforted Fusilier Lee Rigby whilst he was lying on the road and the other brave lady, spoke to his murderers in trying to stop them harming anyone else, also to try and calm them down.

The Rev Jesse V. proposes that these women, all civilians receive the George Medal for their bravery and actions in preventing further loss of life and what they did for Mr. Rigby. I received an email about it today.

Should anyone wish to support this and sign the petition please see:

www.change.org or Change.org

I am on my phone and not easy to do the proper link.

Thanks

Hope you don't mind but here is the link:

I am signing it, my first thoughts at hearing this story about the aforementioned Women was they deserved to be recognised publicly for their actions.

This feeling was intensified when listening to Ingrid Loyau-Kennet on the Radio, she brushed off her Courage and Humility so easily, without recognising her own actions for what they where.

Thanks for adding on the correct link. The petition is now up to 50,664 including us both. The petition needs to get up to 75,000. It is important and I hope other people will sign it too?

It would be well deserved. As you might guess from my user name I did my army basic training at Woolwich in the late 70's when it was the Royal Artillery Depot. Have fond memories of the place.
