Went to the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 2000. I think they put up 24 Spitfires and Hurricanes. The Blenheim was also airbourne.

Referring to crashes into the ground,
I used to fit Econocruise cruise control systems and the technical guy (Mike Watkins) at the factory in Rugby had a share in what I think was an American plane. He was doing a display, I think in the Manchester area and his aircraft flew into the ground. This would be in the early 80’s. I had spoken with him a few days earlier and it was on a follow up call to the factory for technical help that I learned of his death. |
