Default Advice on removing a saloon rear screen

I want to try and save the rear screen on the 75 saloon I'm breaking. I
have managed to get the chrome trim off around the edge of the screen.

Looks as if plastic clips only hold the trim and not the screen.

Is it now just a case of being super careful, to get something thin and sharp between screen and body and cutting the "glue" holding the screen in place?

Any tips?

rear screens are tricky to remove in one piece due to the fact they are tempered glass. you'll need something to cut the bonding which will be quite tough and be careful not to damage the screen otherwise it'll end up in a million pieces!!!

I made a wire cutting tool to remove windscreens but it wouldn't work on rear screens because of the heating elements, and the worst thing I could do is crack the screen, not shatter it...

does bonding soften if heated/warmed?

It looks like a 2-man job using something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3Pcs-Car-....c101006.m3226

Yes, it's a 2-man cheesewire.

I've done it before, you will need a windscreen fitters 'cheesewire' and two handles, it is then a two man job (one outside one in).

It is hard work and you will probably snap the wire several times.

Remove any trim that you want to keep such as the rear parcel shelf as it will get melted by the heat of the cheese wire otherwise.
