Default rusty 75's

do these have a weak place for rust, mine is totally rust free and i want to keep it that way, so if there is i can give that area some extra tlc

Body shell seems well protected. The bits bolted on underneath will be pretty rusty though. I gave everything underneath a spraying with WaxOyl in the summer. Front to rear brake pipes are guaranteed to corrode. Standard MOT failure point.

brake pipes were replaced 2 years ago, so the body panels ar generally ok?

You still get early 75s which look brand new so there is nothing to worry about unless it has a dodgy repair ie door skin replaced etc

I've only ever seen one rusty example & it belongs to a club member though I wont embarrass him cos he's a nice fella but it looks to be down to a previous poor body repair as opposed to being a problem area on these cars

Haven't seen any rusty 75s now that I think about it ... :lol: but my car has done a lot of motorway miles so there are some small chips on the bonnet, wish I would have the money for a respray

I've never seen rust on a 75 that I remember of any age other than areas that have been damaged.

I've only ever seen one with rust that we had in at work. It had started to bubble up under the chrome trim on the passenger rear quater
