Default CD Changer connection help please

Hi Everyone!

New to the site and this is my first post!
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I have looked at lots of pages but no luck. The problem is that I have a missing CD changer and I cannot trace which one(s) i can get to replace it. My car (02 75 2l Tourer) is fitted with the High Line TV/Sat Nav/Cassette Head Unit and everything is working as it should. However at some stage the CDC has been removed leaving just the plug. I bought an Alpine 105560 unit which I thought would fit, but the connector is different. Does anyone know a model of CDC that will just plug in and work, without cutting wires and so on?
Alternatively is an adapter wire available that would connect the two together?
Any help greatly appreciated.

The Alpine CD palyers that plug and play with the hi line unit were all made for MGR and had the part numbers listed below. ebay is always a good starting point.

XQE 100430
XQE 105560
XQE 000110PMAD
VUB 102140
VUB 105400

Hi Mike
Thanks for that. I bought an XQE 105560 from ebay but the connector is different. Do you know if any of the other units you mention have another type of connector fitted?

The plug shown on the link below is the standard fit plug used on the hi line and others. If this is not the plug you have then I'm myself confused as to what you have

You could go "intravee" or alternatives and fit an ipod. Keep your glovebox! Search the forum for intravee. Several members have fitted a "grom" i think. I'm sure they'll be along shortly.

Default BMW connection?

Hi Guys
Thanks for your help so far. I have a closer look at the connector I have in the car and some other threads on here and it looks like a may have a BMW loom fitted as the plug is marked BMW in VERY small letters! It also looks like the picture of the loom posted elsewhere on the site. Does this make any difference? Do I need a BMW CDC or is there an adapter that I can get?
Thanks in advance

You may be looking in the wrong place, if it is a 17 pin BMW audio plug you have found, it's not for the CD changer. Look under the glovebox* for an oblong 10 pin plug with only 7 pins used, that should connect with the changer you have. (*or the boot if it was there, there will be a hole for it in the offside trim if it was)

Only one 10 pin connector for the factory fitted changer, it should be Black.

There's a picture of the plug in the "how to" by Reebs, which I gave you the link to in my previous post. HTH.
