99 % its blocked heater matrix. Silt gathers in the passenger side blocking the flow around the matrix. Proberbly find plenty of threads on this using the site search facility. Not to difficult a job. Had exactly the same on mine this time last year. Couldn't believe the amount of sediment that came out EVENTIALLY.

The only thing i'd add to the "how to" would be if you follow the coolant pipes back where they go up into the bulkhead you will find a clamp. Just one philips screw in the middle. I removed this clamp (bit fiddley) to give the pipes a bit of flexibility when refitting. It was just that I had seen some posts where people had trouble getting a good tight seal when reconnecting the pipes. As for the coolant refill, you can do by means of undoing the header tank and suspending it as high as possible WITHOUT KINKING THE PIPES ATTATCHED, give it a good bleed through via the bleed screw before starting. If I remember right, I started the engine on mine wilst the bleed screw was still open. Make sure the coolant level doesn't drop lower than the bottom of the tank. Be a good idea to use the on board diagnostic coolant temp facility when running it up. Good luck.
