Default part number of BBUS?

Anyone know what the part number of the Backup sounder unit is?

I'm on the lookout for one if you know where one is located cheaply.

I have a spare, though I can't vouch for it's condition. Part of an ebay lot.

PM me if you want it.

The kit is no longer available I'm afraid,
but the BBS (Battery Backup Sounder) is
Part No: YWK000041 Battery-sounder unit backup £122.18 + VAT

There are 132 currently available at XPart Distribution.

Any ideas what is different between the kit and the battery backup sounder unit?

I'm retrofitting Powerwash headlights and apart from a T1 and T4 session the only thing I think I need is the BBUS unit.

I thought the electrical plug connection was there for the alarm to connect into. The unit probably has a BMW logo on it if I'm not mistaken.

It is. Both alternative connectors are on the end of the loom. It's just a case of removing the horn and bolting the BBUS into place.

A word of caution though. Don't connect the BBUS until the appropriate T4 changes have been made.

It charges up and therefore you cannot stop it sounding which it will do if the system is still set up for the horn. Trust me, the noise, at close quarters, nearly makes ones ears bleed .

Ibelieve Keith had to throw one into a bucket of water to silence it.

Thanks Raistlin

Hopefully it won't be to big a deal to do once I get the T1 disk enabling the unit.

Stocktake was kind enough to fine me a bumper to replace mine. It happens to have the power wash on it and he has also sourced some of the other bits form the same location so hopefully this will be all I require for a proper retrofit.
