5 millionth Rover - based on what?
Rover cars from the old independent Rover Co - there is uncertainty about the number of P6s built let alone any of the others. Can't be all the companies that eventually ended up within the Rover bag, i.e. Austin, Morris etc. Paul

I THINK IT WAS ROVERS BADGES AS ROVERS, Not Austins or Morris cars etc etc...
In fact they were knocking cars out for 101 years so this is easily done. |

Hi Martin
Sorry but I do need to disagree; Razen Brown was not the colour name given by MGR; from the start the colour was named Xirallic. The original 5 Millionth Rover celebration brochure produced by the company when the car was built names the paint as Xirallic made by Du Pont. The same information is set out in all the 5 Millionth news releases and pictures. Sorry to seem picky but it is important that the club site stays as accurate as possible about the car's history as people will use these forums for all sorts of research. As you say AE Wilcox are long standing Rover experts so I've no idea why they got this one so wrong. Does anyone know if Razen is an English word and what it means? Cheers Mike

That colour is another name for firefrost (Xirallic.) its not CDX mate which is why this is so unusual. CDX is copperleaf and so this looks nothing like that, but I about to get the pictures so lets have a look mate. |

Dunno about you others but I was never a fan of brown cars no matter who made them, the early brown coloured cars were all called flyin - Sh--e when I was a lad.. .
I did like the Rover 3.5 v8 colour called harvest gold I think, that looked nice.. But brown? yukk.. I like the spec on the car though, so I may offer to do a swap, even if I do have to have it resprayed in Firefrost or something. . |

wouldnt it be better to ask Wilcox chap to give the evidence for Raisin (sic) Brown - otherwise it's just an old wives tale. As Mike says, the MGR evidence is the only thing to go by.
Where is the evidence for Firefrost being called Xirallic? |
