Not counting my MG Rover cars, as I've only owned them since I moved down from Scotland - so they haven't really seen enough snow to give a verdict. But my ZT seems good so far - the snow setting on the auto box certainly did the job the other day.
So, from my other cars (owned when I lived in Aberdeenshire, so they saw plenty of snow!) : Best : 1982 Datsun Cherry 1.2GL. My first car, and for some reason it was amazingly grippy in snowy weather. Worst : 1991 Ford Granada 2.0i Ghia. Rear wheel drive and living near Aberdeen in the winter didn't really go well together... traded it in for a Calibra, which wasn't that much better, but at least it wasn't tail happy!

can I change my mind? The worst car in the snow must be the JZR -
No weather gear, ie no roof or side windows No wipers - you look over the screen No heater/remister No reverse gear And it's a 3x1, that's three wheels, driven by the one rear wheel, and very little low-down torque, the power comes in around 5000 rpm. In other words, totally impractical But loads of fun................................. Malcolm

Best, my first Mini, tested well in the winter of 62-63. Only car in our road to go anywhere.
Worst by far was the 3.0 Litre Scimitar which I couldn't even move on our level drive. |

An old friend had, until recently an Austin 7. He kept it for winter driving, as the thin tyres allowed him to grip the road very well. He swore by it, I swore at it... it was cold Brrrrr

My series one landrover with Avon traction mileage tyres on for the same reason, thin tyres with grippy sidewalls, in rear wheel drive it oversteers everywhere, but engage four wheel drive and you can tackle just about anything, I'm using it in preference to my range rover with traction control, heated seats, and seatbelts, at the minute and its much better

Best I found was my Vectra GSI, big heavy V6 up front cutting through most snow drifts. The ZT is quite scary on the icy roads but as said before its the big fat tyres causing the issues.

Interesting how there's a few saying ZT's aren't so good.
My 75 Tourer is refusing to get stuck or slide at all! Yesterday me and Gill swapped cars. I have a 25 mile drive to work, she has a two mile journey, but no way did she want to risk her MX5 (and I didn't want her to) So.... Her journey was fine, mine was, er, fun! Firstly couldn't get the car off the drive, so had a push off a workman arriving next door and the paperboy. I followed Gill off our estate to make sure she was OK (our roads are packed, icy snow). Halfway round, a puppy which had escaped from a garden ran in front of her. She braked hard, ABS kicked in apparently, but no skid. I couldn't leave the pup there so picked up the poor thing literally from the middle of the road - luckily a lady was walking her own dog nearby and knew where it had come from and took it home. Then I had a very cautious drive to work. Coming home, I couldn't get out of the car park, and needed another push. Some of the roads coming home were sheet ice and the slightest touch of throttle, even when driving straight, pushed the car sideways. A couple of junctions had slight inclines to join the next road meaning I had to take a run to get out (ie, get stuck, roll back a bit, wait for a gap, and then go for it) I joined these roads sideways too, quite exciting with a huge drain either side! Took me an extra half hour for the journey all in This morning the 75 has just purred off the drive again!
