Default 75 V8

Here is a picture of a Rover 75 V8 Contemporary for sale, nothing unusual in

that, except, below that picture is a MG Rover press photo of the same reg.

car but in Connoisseur form. And it looks a slightly different shade of red.

If it's the same car why change the spec.

perhaps a case of photoshop............MGR used it all the time to save costs. many launch pics for the facelift cars were photoshopped from original pics!

Could be a trick of the light maybe? the one for sale has been photo'd with no bright light on it....

Or my eyes are going!

I reckon its photoshop'ed. Was going to ask Malcolm to join here but if he's selling no point.

He's asking £7,995 by the way. If anybody is interested I can cut & paste the details.

In most of [though not all] press pictures of MG Rover 75's the reg. numbers

are private plates, that is, three numbers and three letters eg. VVV 818.

Not many had 04 plates.

My point is, why bother to photo shop either the reg plate or change from a

Contemporary to a Connoisseur.

Probably the answer is "we just don't know".

Why did some V8s have a body coloured grille bar & some were grey plastic, I've noticed yours is coloured Dave but that one above isn't does it mean anything?

They did that so they could "flip" the picture for RHD or LHD as required.

The characters used were always symmetrical.

Well spotted Colin.

I hadn't even noticed myself that the centre part of the grill was painted the same colour as the rest of the car.

Maybe it was something to do with it being a Director of MG Rover who ordered the car.
