Default Rover 75 V8

Anyone looking for one of these, don't come up for sale very often..

Fairly sure this very car was for sale about a year ago, Mike M went to have a look at it for me..

I go through Shepperton a fair amount. Will try and take a look and see if they've fixed that bumper properly

I think it was for sale at the same price one year ago.

Didn't go for this one as the seller would not reduce the price..

Found a picture of when the 75 V8 was previously for sale..

Looks as if the the chrome grill surround could have been fixed..

Also the asking price has gone up by £5 in one year, is this a sign..

Question

I thought Xenons and headlamp washers were standard on the SE - is this missing them, or am I?!?

Thinking to myself I would swap that for my current 75cdt same colour almost the same inside but made the mistake of mentioning it to my wife. From this to this in 10 seconds.

If someone is serious about buying I only live a few miles away so can go along and view if its between today and the end of Monday

I know a little about these cars One of only eight Royal blues in this country.

Only 8 royal blues - then I've had two of them! First one was bought from SMC in Slough and sold as a Connoisseur SE with SE Pack. Should have had a sunroof but didn't - rather like the car here. Had a very expensive Webasto sunroof fitted and kept it for about 12 months before trading it back in for the one I've got now - another Connoisseur SE with SE pack, this time with a factory sunroof! Neither car came with Xenons and headlamp washers, although I've just had the washers fitted to the car I've still got. Both of them had chrome grille surround 'issues' ie the grille fixings come away from the grille shell due to poor quality epoxy used to bond them in. I've rebonded every fixing individually now with a special flexible silicon adhesive and had no problems since. I'm slowly bringing mine up to what I consider to be a 'full' spec, including 18 inch Vortex wheels, powerfolds, rear sunblind, headlamp wash, torch and power socket in glovebox, dual horn - all the things Rover should have fitted on a 'flagship' car!

Good luck to anyone who goes after this one - they're not as hardcore as the MG version, but, as Nick at Austin Garages said, Rover should 'waft', and they can 'waft' with the best of them (with a nice bass note from the exhaust).

I've never been in a 75 V8, but I would imagine that with the auto box it could be a very smooth and rapid at the same time.

There are quite a few Connoisseur SE V8's out there without the Zenon's, headlamp washers, rear sunblind and the sunroof.

It would seem that the Contemporary SE V8 was better appointed, usually they were fitted with all the toys..

My 75 V8 is very smooth but does tend to change down the gears quite a bit when you put your foot down and I am sure it shouldn't need to with such a large ammount of torque available.
