Got the glove box and fuse panel off but what else can be removed to get better access to the wiring higher up . ?. I'd rather ask first before poking and levering things about. thanks in hope .. C.

You can take the wood effect vent and airbag cover off but it will not give you any access to what you are after. The actual dash (the black part) is held in by 2 bolts on each end and one in the middle behind the centre console (which has to come out completely along with removing the steering wheel). You MUST remove the trim/airbag cover that runs up the side of the windscreen or you will not get the dash out (as I discovered).

Brilliant replies from all of you ...
Many many thanks!!! Just how Ilike it ......information overdose !! Just have to wait until I get my Zt back... borrowed my Dads Merc E320cdi auto estate to do some shifting of junk. The only downer is that this great tank of a thing ... 3.2litre dizzel gets better about the same or a tiny but better MPG than my ZT cdti going by the Computer.?. Ah well the Zt looks better & corners miles better & costs less. take care all Chris

Driver's side blank, pull off the trim above, the long one, then insert a flat blade bottom left on the blank fascia, push towards the right, pulling the top at the same time, should release the clip & you'll be able to remove the the full cassette. The other stuff I'll need to search
