Default Parking Sensors

My sensors operate every time I select reverse gear.

So annoying I have pulled the fuse.

Would be grateful for advice

They are supposed to

I take it you mean one constant beep? If so, do you have a towbar fitted? This can upset reversing sensors, if not you more than likely have a failed sensor or a break in the wiring harness.

Select reverse with the ign on and see which sensors are clicking as a first step..

Had the same with mine and it was corrosion on the face of the sensors. Rubbed them down and resprayed them and all was well.

Mine occasionally decided to beep constantly.

I read on here about ensuring the sensors are clean.

So I squirted them with some APC (All Purpose Cleaner ... in my case some Bilt Hamber Surfex HD but other makes are available ) and used a cocktail stick to clean all the little grooves in and around each sensor.

Success (so far anyway!)

Good luck. Let us know if it helps.

John

I occasionally get the same thing - constant beep - and likewise find that wiping over each sensor does the trick but all it seems to need is a slightly damp cloth/tissue.

Many thanks
I put the fuse back in, planning to follow your advice.
As if by magic the fault has disappeared and they are functioning normally.
Thanks anyway. I will know what to do if the problem comes back
