Today, I made a plan on what I want to do on my car to get it in the best possible condition. It's in very good condition right now, but a few things are holding it back from being an almost perfect 75. The plan is:

Fix the leaks - I'm still not too sure where they're coming from. After this I can re-install the carpet.

Engine bay clean - don't think it's ever been cleaned, so that will be fun.

Engine cover painting - Saw a thread of Avon's 75 and the silver engine cover looks brilliant.

Walnut interior - swapping from light oak to real walnut.

Android headunit

Cream interior - I've got a black interior right now but always wanted a cream interior, so I may completely change the interior. Whilst i'm doing this I will also try and bring everything to pre project drive.

new speakers

soundproofing ( best to do all 3 of these at the same time.)

160 Remap (still not got round to doing that yet)

Walnut Key - I saw on reddit that someone made a car key out of wood when their old one broke - I might give this a shot as my key right now is very tatty.

Pre facelift front bumper - I prefer the pre facelift to the facelift, so I may swap the front. I was thinking a MK1 ZT bumper but i'm not too sure, I think it's too much. Similarly, the MK1 75 bumper is a bit too reserved for me. I think a compromise will be best, try and make it look like the 75 sport concept.

Fix the chips in the rear bumper - My rear bumper is full of chips and it's spoiling the bodywork. It really needs correcting.

Wheel centre caps - They need painting and the new badges I bought need painting.

Hopefully this little project will last me throughout the easter and summer holidays.

Default Magic carpet installation....

Took my Unions off and replaced with a set of Crowns.

Not everyones favourite wheels but I like 'em!

Fitted some new wing mirrors to Bones.

Again.

On the plus side though, she's nice and clean and ready for the NANO.

I wish mine was clean. Washed it last night for the mot today, and as usual, whenever I wash my car, it rains. It now looks the pits. Will have to see if I have time before the nano on Saturday, to get it cleaned up. That will be three washes in ten days. My wife says I should take my car into the dessert to help get it to rain there.

Hi,after my diesel conking out from what I presume was low fuel managed to finally get it going today, took me almost most of the day,had to recharge the battery twice after cranking and then it finally chugged to life after I had to take the other battery off my launch car.In between battery changes thought I would check all the fuses, pump relay and inertia cut off switch.I did not seem to be getting any fuel to the fuel filter for a long time.I can't be sure but I think the inertia switch had activated because as I pressed it I thought I felt it click, not the easiest to get to!Maybe the sudden lack of fuel resulting in a stationary jolt had activated it as well.See tomorrow if it starts like it used to.Regards Ry.....

They will always be wing mirrors to those of a certain age, same as opal fruits, marathons, hoovers etc.

Rear view mirrors give a view of the rear.

Wing mirrors give a view along the wings.

If you have door mirrors, your wing mirrors are not adjusted correctly.

Drove it to the coast, walked the hound, parked it up, then picked up my mate's van to do a job.

Had a phone call from Saxo1980 who had arrived at my place, so after a cup of coffee, off we set in the van of Astra.

I think Graham was fairly impressed with the van's turn of speed, not to mention the fact you can fit loads of stuff in the back, unlike the ZT where you can't

A V70 is looking increasingly likely as a successor to the ZT, I certainly would like a decent estate car, but no tourer or ZT-T would be suitable given what I need a car to be able to do

Ho hum
