Dodgy practice?
I've seen a ZT advertised online and made arrangements to visit this car on Saturday. Since then the owner has joined a couple of other ZT related groups on Facebook advertising the car more.
Obviously he is free to do that, he had admitted to me he has had little interest in the car from his original Facebook and eBay adverts apart from me. To suddenly increase his advertising after we make arrangements appears to be a non-subtle way of trying to drum up competition and hopefully the price. Often I see on adverts, that the seller mentions if someone is coming to look, not increase their advertising! I'm considering pulling out of the visit on Saturday, something seems odd and not sure if I trust this seller. Something doesn't sit right to me Any thoughts? |

Or they have considered that you may not buy, so want to line up other potential buyers. If you pull out then they would be right in their consideration They could tell you they have other buyers when they don't but they could tell you that even if they had not advertised elsewhere. macafee2 |

If it has potential to be a good car, you should go and see it regardless of the antics of the owner. There aren't enough good ones around to be picky, and you are buying the car, not the owner. (And even a good one will need plenty of stuff doing to it...)

Let me get this right
So, somebody advertised a car for sale
you arranged to view in a few days seller told you there wasn't much interest from the initial advert they decided to advertise in other places too you assume the seller is looking to raise the price AFTER he told you there wasn't much interest you're not exactly beating down his door to view it MAYBE you won't buy it should the seller wait for your decision, exclude all other viewings? give you a fortnight to decide if you're buying? Don't see the problem here- honestly. If you want to, go view the car. If you want it, make an offer or meet the asking price... As said, it's the car you're interested in- not the seller. |

Any update on this?
Usual monthly trawl through threads I have a small (but hopefully useful) part or interest in...
I'm not on the edge of my seat but would appreciate any news of the viewing / haggling / purchase... the popcorn awaits |

I'm not sure I agree. The viewer may arrive to view the car, upon one look at the seller realise that he had misunderstood his sexuality all his life, fall instantly in love and end up taking home the seller rather than or together with the car. The possibilities are endless, one imagines! Quote:
Perhaps the ending was not as we expected? |

Nothing to report
Nothing really to report.
Seller didn't have a V5 for the car and a few other things he said didn't match up to the Car Vertical report, so leaving that one alone. To be honest I think I will call time on hunting for a ZT for now. Will still pop onto this site now and again. Keep up the good work keeping these fine vehicles going. Cheers! |
