Firstly Peter, sorry to hear of your loss, always a shock and takes time to get over.

A V6 auto is a nice combo, it has a bit of body work needing attention. Do you know if it's had its cam belts done, how solid are jacking points, plus any water ingress in cabin or boot, all four points will influence its sellablity

Yes the cam belts were done (I remember the language when he found out the cost!).
It's all solid and is dry as a bone inside. He never mentioned any leaks to me. I think the only advisory on the MOT was for soft roll bar mounting rubbers.
I took pictures of the marks I could see on the bodywork. There is also a small 10-15mm tear in the drivers seat bolster.
As I said I'm just looking for advice so we get best value for my wife's Mum.

I just took a peek on Autotrader site . Prices ranged from £750 for a 2001 yr to £3700 for a 2004 !
Have a look and see what is similar spec and condition to yours .

I was thinking around £900 so that's probably about right. Problem with looking at AT is you can only see what £ people are asking for. Not always a good indicator of what they'll actually sell for.
If I can work out how to use facebook, i'll put an add on market place and see what happens.
Thanks again for the help and advice.

HI Peter.
WE are sorry to hear about your loss of a family member, you could always sell it on here in the for sale section, it will only cost you £10 to subscribe, it may then go to a decent owner which you may want?

It is one of the nicer colours in the range, and not that much work needed to bring it up to scratch, do you have a date when the belts were changed that would help a great deal good luck.

Just to say that it's the mileage which is relevant and whether the tensioner and idler pulleys were renewed.

I always was advised by a few mechanics (not fitters) that age should always be taken into consideration.

That's certainly the official line Kev, which your mechanics will follow. To avoid repeating previous lengthy coverage of this subject, a forum search will provide the clarification you're seeking.
