tourer rear screens

Anyone ever had the tourer rear screen glass replaced with a brand new one back when they were available through insurance etc?

If so, can you remember if the replacement came with the metal frame already attached or was it just the glass alone and the old screen had to be removed from the frame and the new screen glued in place?

Surely it would have come with the frame attached - otherwise just gluing the glass into the frame would not give you working heat elements?

Rimmers suggests it came with the frame.

Anyone with a spare rear window fancy sacrificing it to see how "easy" it is to detach the glass from the frame?

Yes you're correct they do come attached to the frame.

They have a nasty habit of detaching themselves from the frame anyway, especially if you're heavy handed closing them

Seen quite a few that have parted company over the years

All I've done is add Rover walnut gear knob and handbrake... 2016 Vauxhall Viva SL (Father Jack) "assisted manual" (auto) in purple. Going rusty underneath already...
