A few years back, I bought a complete set of Citizen Smith on DVD. I always loved the series, and it rarely (if ever ) gets repeated.

It's also written by John Sullivan, and watching it again after all those years, it struck me how similar it was to Only Fools. Wolfie Smith is basically Del Boy, and his side kick Ken is Rodney. His girlfreinds mum always gets his name wrong, calling him "Foxie" instead of "Wolfie" (*much like Triggers "Dave") and most of the other Only Fools characters seem to be in there in some form or other. It really does feel like you're watching a dry run of Only Fools.

Each episode has it's own sub title, and Episode 3 of series 3 is called "Only Fools and Horses" .

I'm a bit of a rugby nut, and there's a team in Wales called the Newport Gwent Dragons whose home ground is called Rodney Parade.

For as long as I can remember, we've always called it Dave Parade ...

On the flip side, one mate always calls me Rodney and another always greets me with "alright Dave" in a Trigger voice

I was christened Rodney - so have suffered for many years through being referred to as either 'Rodders' or "you plonker"
With a surname of Thrower - I was previously hailed as Percy - members will need to be of a certain age to get the connection on this one!
