I feel your frustration buddy - my Car has had a Good shot at testing my patience this year

(although Now it's not the Car at Fault - some tarry fingered Swine has stolen my tools from a Hotel where i was doing work, leaving me unable/unwilling to continue working there and currently unable to take on other work so looking for temp employment again to fund the last bits I need to get my Car BOTR what can you do.....you've got to laugh)

I've no experience of Autos or Gearbox Issues - Could it be as simple as a sticking Rear Caliper ? causing more resistance in reverse resulting in a "Jitter"

just a thought - I hope you get to the cause and it's nothing too drastic

Paul.

Start by checking the fluid level but it might be the known cracked reverse piston fault.

Be sure to let us know which 15-20 year old car you get that's self-healing

you are more then welcome to buy a new mid range car and see year on year how much it costs. You will lose more in depreciation in a few years then your 75 will cost to repair, even if it costs more then it's worth.

Well you've just highlighted the problem - unless you are lucky/have owned the car for years and years etc etc any 15-20 year old car is going to cost you increasingly regular money to fix if you use it as your everyday car.

Doesn't mean you have to buy a brand new car, just a newer one

and yes, I know any car regardless of age can potentially be a money pit.

Calm down Graham, it’s all repairable, have a run up to see Brian he will tell you the issue in a few mins.

I no I fly off the handle at times but after watching and helping someone take rear arms and bush. Off etc and the new replacement need modded etc I just think sometimes more effort then what car is worth at time

It all good for most people on this site you lot can fix cars I can't I can fire an SA80. But can't fix an car
This is also my frustration. Cos I hate asking for help hate it and it just seems everything comes at once

Think it's an time out time and chill maybe come across harsh at times I do apologize for this like things to work lol that's all
