I'm going with B, but this is so cruel of you to keep us in suspense!

Option C for me.

The garage told you they removed it, did nothing and charged you for their time!

I really am popping out in just a minute but thought I'd add that I as they started on the car first thing after I had it transported down I stayed for a chat and watched just out of interest ( which they were quite happy with, it's just a small two man local garage and they are happy to chat away and let me have a watch out of interest at to what was going to be revealed)

So C's back off the answer list after an unauthorised appearance.

Does anyone wish to offer their last guess or opinion on whether:-

a) There was a length of hose sitting in the sump or bottom of the dipstick tube?

or

b) No length of hose sitting in the sump or bottom of the dipstick tube?

I'll post up what was discovered when I get back in later.
I am going with b, also.

You only get 10 thanks per day by the way

There you go then that explains it.

MSS will have his mind put to rest that I did very much appreciate his advice after all but ran out of thanks tabs.

Clearly you are a novice here. You should have saved a thanks / held one back just in case MSS decided to give his advice. I mean the only reason to post is to get thanks right?

By the way, option b for me

So far then after 11 votes

a) Finding hose in sump 18%

b) Not finding hose in sump 73%

c) Cover up and charge job by investigating garage 9%

I'll give it an hour or so and post up the actual
