Is there a specific name for the rubber seal i need? once again, hugely indebted to you all for taking the time to help....

T4 will point out the possible causes, i am sure Tom (organiser) purchased one of these seals not so long back, hopefully he will see the thread and reply.

So had the T4 session today and it was struggling to communicate with the car at first but eventually did. The mechanic persevered and we got P1E00 CAN objects messages
P1E30 BOOST PRESSURE ACTUATOR
P0500 VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL
It also brought up an Abs sensor but handily pinpointed which one, the mechanic says he thinks there could be a fault with the ecu, maybe previously water damaged. First task is to check all the piping is ok and not leaking and then see whats what...Thanks again for all the input, it is greatly appreciated. G

You say this was diagnosed using T4??

Well I can confirm that if it was, then the ECM fitted to your car is completely incorrect for the specification, and originated from a Freelander TD4

Not that I know anything about this type of thing..........so who did the diagnostic for you?

Sounds like someone has possibly put an ECU from a Freelander in it.
That would explain a lot of the problems that you're experiencing and it'll only be producing 110PS, the Freelander tune in a 75 will be gutless
If you want me to have a look, and if that's the case I can sort that out for you.

Russ

The diagnostics was done by D and D at Somercotes Derbys, It was a T4 as i was stood bending his ear as he was using it. it would make sense as my friends Autel system would only picked it up as a Range rover 04.

What do you suggest the next step should be? Replace the ECU ? It doesnt seem gutless when its running ok but to be fair, not really in the habit of gunning it....open to your suggestions and Thanks again..

*UPDATE* Spoken with BigRuss and have a planned meeting weather permitting. Rubber seal arrived from Mickyboy and has been fitted so not sure if anything will change, but at least there is one where one should be..Thanks to all who are contributing to helping me resolve my issues...

*UPDATE* Been to see BigRuss who was indeed correct with his diagnosis along with Marinabrian that my 75 was fitted with a Freelander ECU. BigRuss has successfully 'virginised' and installed the correct software on the ECU and sneaked in the 160bhp upgrade. Driving the hour home on the M1 was a joy and the silence when parked is deafening (forgot to mention the permanently on fan). So huge thanks to the forum and all those who offered help especially BigRuss who did the dirty work....

Just goes to show how invaluable these guys are,so many cars would have been sent to meet their maker without them.
