Question Keyboard cleaning.

What do you recommend to clean above on my lap top. My screen is kept clean, but my keyboard looks like it needs a power washer which i know is not practical.

I find baby wipes work fine.

Baby wipes for me too - do it when it's turned off obviously though.

Wet wipes are good.
I usually start by holding it upside down and GENTLY tapping the crud out. If you have a can of air or a vacuum cleaner they can help to dislodge the crumbs, hairs etc. Then finish off with a wet-wipe.

I use a long bristle brush to remove all the dust between the keys whist holding a short vacuum near the surface to collect it all.

Then wet wipes as others have said followed by drying to remove the cleaning residue with kitchen towel.

Keypads are made waterproof against coffee spills so that gives a good way to clean them. At least once in the past, I've removed the case screws or whatever holds it in place, so the keyboard can be lifted from the silicone contacts membrane. Most keypads have captured keys, so they won't drop out if you invert or shake it. Best check befor proceeding! A squirt of Fairly Liquid and a warm scrub with a toothbrush will return it to showroom condition. The slops and detritus that collects under the keys on the membrane can be brushed off completely and wiped with a damp tissue, etc..

If you don't know how to proceed, every popular laptop has a webpage showing you how to remove/replace the keypad. Just Google for it.

The problem with removing the keyboard for cleaning is that such keyboards have onboard electronics which can be damaged unless the person undertaking the work is aware of and takes appropriate precautions against static. A brush with synthetic bristles would be a particular threat unless properly earthed.
