![]() I've noticed a little twitch in the steering lately on my 1999 75 2.0 V6 auto.
It's accompanied by click click click sound which appears to be coming from the offside front. The sound and twitch is worse when turning left or right. I've tried moving both front wheels with the handbrake off and the drive in neutral and drive. There doesn't seem to be any worn bushes causing the problem. I've jacked it up on both sides one at a time and the wheel bearings seem quiet enough. I tried moving the wheels individually as it was jacked up and in park. There was a surprising amount of movement and a clicking when moving the wheels forwards and backwards. I am assuming a CV joint is worn (or both). Can anyone give me some pointers to any other testing I can do to confirm the fault? |

![]() Yes I would say CV joint. Grab the drive shaft see if you can get it to make the noise your hearing.
Edit..I had the same on a previous car, it was the cv joint Last edited by First_damned; 21st January 2015 at 17:33.. |

![]() Thanks for the quick replies. I think I'll replace the CV joint to start with.
Is this one ok for 2.0kv6? And how tricky are they to fit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140893871339 |
