Official font?
Does anyone know what script/font(s) were used by MGR on their badging for the R75 and ZT?
Thanks Andrew

Hi..
I Would hazard a guess that they were custom made fonts... commissioned specially for MG Rover the rover font you will find a close match to.. try bodini or london-tube.. MG is deffo a custom font i am sure someone will have a copy somewhere but good luck in finding it a website called whatthefont will poss be able to help you finding a close match... but MG font i would say is a font and then been altered after... |

As quick fix LUCIDA CONSOLE on the PC (word doc.) is similar. Possibly the nearest you'll get without finding the actulal font.
Where did the font come from for the club header/banner (75 ZT) at the top of this page I wonder?

The 'O' in rover badging is rotated slightly to the left as well.

The letters are a different front from the numerals. The 'MG' font is different from the 'ROVER' font. And all are different from the font used on letterheads/packaging.
This is London Tube font. It's similar, but not quite the one used on packaging, etc. It's not the badge font for sure. You may find a similar 'public' font for the lettering, but from my investigations I'd say the '75' is unique. The way to match it is to create it yourself using font design software or a 3D rendering system. TC |
