Default Cost of a Plumber

This what I wanted doing just trying to gauge the going rate.

Outside tap,
Hose reel attached to an outside wall.
A Double Ventilated radiator 1000x600 put on a stud wall.

£360.00.

Would this be about right.

Depends on where the existing pipes are and is this all in or is it just labour?

detailed breakdown required. How many hours work is it and what is the cost of materials. I doubt you'll get a clear answer though.

Outside tap £40-£60 all depends on location and where the services are, radiator £250 ballpark

Difficult to say without knowing where the feeds for the tap and rad come from, but based on £150 of materials and a days labour that seems about right to me.

I already have the materials, outside tap, connected to inside toilet with about 2 feet of pipe,

Jeez rev, this is like pulling teeth. Let's have all the information

So you have the radiator, fittings and pipe.

Where is the radiator going? Does the floor have to come up? Etc, etc.

Trying to see if something is of a fair value is a bit how long is a!piece of string.

My usual selection process is

1. Can I do it? ( probably )
2. Do I want to do it? ( not really )
3. Can I afford it? ( yes )
4. Do I think the workman is OK?
5. Pay it.

These days because I have the time I do most things myself.

The other thing about paying a professional is that hopefully they won't balls it up!

Right??? No floor to be pulled up.
The radiator I already have, it is to be fixed to an adjoining back to back plaster board wall with an existing radiator, he is to supply the connectors, and valves,
The pipe for the outside tap Is to run through the wall of an existing toilet to the outside for a length of about two feet, I have the connectors and tap, (no pipe)
He is to fix to a wall, a retractable hose near the outside tap, I have the hose.

Hmmmm, seems a bit steep. But I've been told I'm out of touch.

It doesn't seem / feel like to be more than 3 or 4 hours of work, even with punching through the wall for the outside tap. Feels more like £200 than £300.

Is he going to drain and flush the system? That is quite time consuming.
