Default Diesel thermostat help

Had a 55 mile run into work this morning. Car never got above 60 degrees on the OBD screen and no warm air from heaters. Obviously my thermostat is kaput. But can anybody give me details about these online thermostats? How much are they? Where can I get one? How easy are they to fit? And how do they work ( bypass the existing stat?) ?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks

Doesn't seem to have any for sale in his forum shop or on eBay. Anyone know of a supplier?

Are they easy to fit?

Default IN line STATS

They are extremely easy to fit, less than 30 minutes, extremely easy to revert back to standard, £20 new top hose, and I have had no problems with temperature during Winter and the recent hot spell. Since I did the original mod using an American housing and Chevy stat others have used a British made housing or even an 'in-hose' 'stat so the choice is yours. They failure of the original 'stat is due to the fact that they start to open earlier and earlier as they age, the mod merely prevents the released coolant from reaching the radiator until it reaches the proper temperature. Simple and it works.

Probably gonna opt for an in hose one as they seem cheapest and easiest to fit. Just needing someone to point me to one that they've used that will fit and works.

Page 9 shows where it fits in the top hose. Page 27 under 'Thomas' post gives the e mail address of the british supplier. He is waiting for 5 orders to make some more at the moment.
