Default Shannon tube

If this pipe was broken or not connected, would it alter the fuel consumption?? as mine is totally fallen to pieces.....

it is attached to the bottom of the air box , you need to replace it or you could get all manner of stuff being sucked in to the engine including water spraying up from under the car ...yes it might increase the fuel usage as car will be getting more air so ecm will even it out by increasing the fuel to balance things out

Yes.... it is totally broken at the bottom, so i have took it off completely.....

you will not get anything sucked into the engine unless you have no air filter having no pipe there will make very little difference to your car and is nothing to worry about

SO this wont help fuel consumption then???? have ordered a Shannon tube (Aluminium) from Halfords......

there is a thread on here somewhere that it actuallly did suck up stuff and water ,i have been looking for it but i cant find it ..

i don't think fuel consumption will suffer,if water is sucked up it will cause engine damage..avoid large puddles.

heres a detailed how to for replacing this item.

we replaced a shannon tube on a members car, his fuel was better after ,so posted that at it seemed a proven point ... shannon tube fitted it would reduce the amount of air to filter box ,,just something that i have had first hand expirence in with thats all .

yeah remember now pab the member did go through a puddle and his car just conked out .due to the water being sucked up
