Default Loose Rear Tail Light Cluster

Upon removing the rear tail light, I was intrigued to see a hollow side entry hole, size of a 2p piece in the housing.(on the metal)

It looks like it had a foam sticker over it originally but clearly i can put my fingers in it. Is it wise to seal up this hole or is it there for a reason?

Also the bolts that hold the unit in place are heavily rusted and there seems to be a bit of play when they are tightened. In fact, they dont tighten up.

The 2 plastic clips that affix to the housing (white plastic, with a square shank) are broken too *-( Though, may be salvagable.

When the lamp unit is secured via the 2 bolts, is it just simply the case of lining up the metal knuckles to fit into those white plastic clips above?
Also, the hole i mention above, is it possible for water to get into there and then into the boot, by anychance? Maybe, as the securing bolts aren't tightening, water could enter here too?

Sorry for all the questions....

Ill try and post a picture, in case im confusing everyone..lol

Hi Tcut..

Thanks for your links hun....

I had already tried Rimmer's but upon visiting them, they no longer stock them *
With respect to the "hole" on the side of the housing, could it be a factory fitted hole to enable tow bar installers to couple into the wiring harness? Just a thought?

I have sealed this hole up now with foam tape, covered with silicone sealant.
