Plants help, gives em somewhere to hide at least, and I have a couple of foot long 6 inch plastic pipes in my pond for the fish to hide in as well..

Nothing wrong with a heron, just the people who put the fish on a plate for them!

They fly high and can spot water from a very long way away..

Worth noting that now Mr/Mrs Heron knows where your pond is, it will be back (when it has slept off its last big supper!)

Afterall, you don't forget where your fridge is do you?
