Haven't missed a Gold Cup since, except for 2001 when the Festival was cancelled due to foot & mouth. Had 23 winners during that time, including a handful of placed Each Way returns.
Have stood in every kind of weather, ranging from snow, sleat, rain to glorious sunshine. Some great memories, who could forget Dickinson's first 5, Jenny Pitman's Burrough Hill Lad, a mud-splattered Desert Orchid, Denman & Kauto Star. And The Thinker coming home knee deep in cheltenham's mud. Some great times, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Thanks for starting this thread, I'm enjoying the updates.

my first memory of the gold cup was an irish mudlark called DAVY LAD winning it in the 70s , the energy put into getting it over the line hooked me.

Im going for tony mcoys luck to change today.

winnings onto albertas run in the 2.40 methinks as his mount in the 2.05 looks a bit optimistic.

Might live to regret that statement .
