Default Any tips for running cables up the middle of the car

Hi looking to run some cables from the boot to the radio and wondered for anyone that has done it before, have you any tips to make it any easier, I hope to lift the rear seat out (ZTT) and remove the rear ashtray then cassette cubby hole and feed them (3sets Rca) through to the radio.

Unless you know better ?

Thanks

I did something similar , and then ran it under the carpet just under the lip of the back seat. From there to the rear sill and under the back bolster, into the boot. Use the drivers rear sill though, as NS is full. Take all the back seats out while working, quick and easy.

I was hoping to run the power cables up the n/s, I take it from your answer that I have no chance

I found there was plenty of room on the N/S for towing cables + audio + TV + reversing camera. For the dash cam's rear cam, I was able to add its cable along the side of the roof liner without much difficulty and its power feed up via the A pillar.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

as Harry said, there is space but mine is also rather cluttered with the tow-bar wiring on that side.

If you can fathom out how to run from boot up to the drivers side rear pillar, you can then run them along the head-lining to the top of the drivers side A pillar, pull that pillar off and run cables down. To feed the radio you will obviously need to remove it and to get the cables there in the dash I removed the IPK (instrument pack) and used a wire coat hanger to pull them through. Please bear in mind that what I did was only from the roof aerial above the rear passenger light on a saloon for a DAB aerial.
Going the roof way is far easier than pulling up carpets Etc....if, you can get them up and through the rear parcel shelf.
Good luck.
Ken.

Probably the easier way to do it in a tourer as well, the boot trim is a pig to get off.

Got all the trim stripped out at the moment, will give the carpet an hour to try it and then see

Personally I would always use the N/S as its easy to remove the glovebox thus giving access to the radio.

As for running cables I would always remove the carpet retainers, OK the plastic clips break but you can get these at a reasonable cost on the bay.

With the carpet retainers removed you can then run the cables along side existing wiring using the loom retainers to keep things tidy.
You also have to unclip the B post trim for easy access.

As for the rear seat you can squeeze most cables through below this following the car harness route.
