Electric seats can't be fitted, can they?
Good morning
It's just occured to me (as it does) that if I have non-electric seats in my car, then there won't be the wiring to connect electric seats, and therefore they wouldn't work. Right? |

Not necessary, a lot of the cars have the wiring as it is a standard loom. You need to look under the seat for the connectors.

Ok, I will then! It's just that in my XKR I took out the seats and there was a wiring look fitted into the floor to be unplugged. It just seemed strange that a car that comes without electric seats would have that.

Why make two different looms when most probably the majority of cars will have motorised seats fitted. Cost saving and elimination of unnecessary parts in stock.

If the car does not have the loom in place it is relatively easy to make up a loom, there are a number of threads on this subject.

My 2005 MGZT CDTi has the looms in place although it has manual seats.
Cheers Ian
