Default Got one!!!!

Picked this up today to give my Sierra a rest. 2.0 diesel auto-Connoisseur SE.

155,000 miles-done very little over the last few years. 6 weeks MOT left.

Lovely bloke I had it off had it for 18 years.

Drives well- a few niggles to sort out-exhaust vibrating, headlining drooping , needs a good clean and takes a while to start when hot.

Still it only cost £400

If the body and chassis are good, then you got a good deal.

That looks smart! Think the chap who sells colour stuff for steering wheel refurb has a likely customer!

Anyone know who sells it? Got to get the minor things done first ! headlining is a pain-had it in my Range Rover.

Whilst pottering under the bonnet I found a Ron box- thought it went well.

Thanks all. Will keep updated.

Starts instantly from cold and drives very, very well. As previously mentioned if you try to restart after a run after say 5 mins it takes a lot of churning, leave it 20 mins and it starts fine.

Plenum check next and pin up the headlining (was same on my Range Rover-eventually had it replaced).

Temp gauge is up and down a bit-so may need the Renault 5 mod.

Lights need a refurb kit.

Oil looks clean so changed not so many miles ago.

Plan is to put it in for an MOT in 2 weeks to see how it goes. Underneath that is visible looks very good-but some things are hidden. Exhaust still has Klarius labels on so fairly newish.

Leather will be cleaned and conditioned when weather permits.

Taking my mother out in it tomorrow so should be fun.

Will keep updating and I expect plenty of questions.

Regards

Steve

Congratulations on your new purchase, at first glance it looks to be a good one, you can't go wrong for that price., you clearly know what your getting into, with the car, good luck

Plenums checked yesterday-nice and dry and holes clear. Pinned up the headlining for now (will look at replacing if a successful MOT in a few weeks).

What surprises me about these is the quality-the doors are really heavy.

Took the load cover unit out yesterday-what a weight-made out of steel not like plastic on other cars I have owned. Most probably get a few more MPG with it out!

Thermostat seems stuck open so have a the Renault 5 one coming so will slot that in.

Onto the seats next-the plastic at the side of the fronts that hold the seat switches has broken lugs on both sides and is loose-so will look at a fix for this.
