Leakback Test
I have a problem with my car cutting out after a run, it start idling very bad, (between 5000 and 8000 rpm on the speedo) and if I take it out of gear (Automatic) and then put it reverse the engine cuts out, but then straight away. This does not happen all the time.
Can any point me in the right direct on the "How To" do a leak test, I have done a search and there's bit and pieces on a few threads, but not a complete guide. Many Thanks Tony |

remove the leak back pipes from the injectors and clamp off, attatch pipes to the injector leak back port (all four pipes must be the same length) and have them going into four measuring vessels. Crank / start engine and watch for fuel to fill the bottles. This can be either slow or quite quick so be ready to switch the car off - if slow run for about 30 seconds and compare the amount of fuel. You are allowed approx 10% difference but each manufacturer quotes slightly different. You are looking for excessive amounts compared against all 4. Usual health and safety rules apply. If you can't make up the kit it shouldn't cost more than an hour at a garage
