Hi Paul.

It was a bit of a saga in the end. I made the mistake of having it towed to a main dealer with the associated high prices. They confirmed low fuel pressure as the problem, and fitted a new fuel pump and filter - cost £420!

A couple of weeks later, I noticed a small dent in the leading edge of the bonnet. Only very small, but once spotted, my eyes fell on it every time I looked at the car. It looks like it may have been caused by someone leaning too heavily on the bonnett when closing - cant be sure though. Could have happened anywhere I guess.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, the car ended up in a local bodyshop having the bonnet resprayed. They did a good job, and got rid of a few stone chips in the process - cost £120 which I didn't thing was too bad (you'll have to tell me what you think on the 16th of Nov).

As for the Avatar - it is rather nice!!

The dent on the bonnet is a common thing. The plate is too thin and yields if you press it close even if done with a flat hand and gently. On these cars let the bonnet drop.
But to try and explain it to mechanics etc...
A fraction of a mm more material would have sorted the problem.
