My luckiest day at a scrappy was a few years ago. I got to know the chap who ran it quite well, and when I arrived to return a faulty alternator one day his boss had just told him that it was being closed down.
Asked him if it was OK to take another alternator, and he said you can take whatever you want. So I did. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 20th October 2016 at 12:34.. |

Travelled over to Newcastle today and decided to give the 75 a run out, car turned 100,000 miles just before we left for home. The last 50,000 having been covered in our ownership 😀

Fired up two of the three spare cars after standing several months. Started instantly, everything still working ok, no loss of coolant. These two had solar battery chragers fited, the battery on the third car had insufficient charge to engage the starter.

What I did Today
cleaned all the door shuts, engine bay, and all the small crevices and then gave it a coat of wax, will leave it for a few days, then put on another coat, and will soon be all finished
Also fitted the rear drivers heat shield, which has been re-engineered for the car Stu |

Today I fitted my viton intercooler seals, handy done without removing bumper etc.
Then gave her a well overdue wash and a wax ready for winter. |
