Default Fitting a replacement ECU

Hi All,

My Rover 75's ECU (V6) succumbed to the bath in the Plenum and is dead

I have purchased a second hand ECU replacement kit that includes ECU, Keys and two additional modules. I can work out where the ECU goes

However, the two additional items I have no idea where they go. These are Items 2 and 3 in the picture.

Does anyone know where I can locate these in the car to replace them?

Chewy

Not really, remove the two screws on the pannel above the clocks pull it out then remove the one screw at the top of the clocks pull the clocks out unplug them and you'll see it

Curious, what is number 3?

Also fitted replacement ECU kit but without no.3.

The only bit you require from the "new" keys is the little, black transponder chips.

Good luck

Ah, that's good on the keys, cos' the replacements would not fit my ignition.

Not sure what 3 is either. To be honest, I am not sure what 2 is

Thanks,

Chewy

No. 2 is the actual immobiliser (elektronische wegfahrsperre - how's your German?) which talks to the chip in the key fob.

Not too difficult to get at, just keep removing bits of plastic around and above the bonnet release. But, this EWS is held in place by some special security bolts which needs a special key. I couldn't get a key locally and removed the bolts the old fashioned way - a good sized cold chisel and 5 pound hammer!

Good luck

3 is an RF Radio Receiver. Something to do with the Immobilizer/Alarm. See attached.
