I have often thought what a good conversion this would be, rwd of course. Not as complex as you may think. Just lots of hard work.

Great April Fool tho! - However, as someone who put a V8 from a P6 in a Morris 1000 the idea seems quiet sensible!

There's a classic car garage near me that has done a few restorations and offered to take out the existing engine and see if the 3.5 would slot in just for fun. Amazingly it turned out to be a perfect fit, and so they said they would do the extra work connecting it all up for nothing except parts if I could agree to promote the garage.

I'll post more pictures later, but so far everything is going really well. The engine is ticking over beautifully, and a tap of the gas pedal gives a symphonic roar. The garage will need a bit of help from a T4 guru as they were struggling to see how to program the ECU to recognise the engine - at present everything's manual, like the accelorator is connected by a cable, and I've had to rig up the cigarette lighter to the choke to control fuel mix. So far I've not been able to figure out how to get the rev counter to move, though the speedo is working fine. But it just goes to show what can be done with a bit of patience and enthusiasm!

Back in the day, my dad's mate put one into a Morris Minor... Took him months, and he left the bodywork standard grey. Went like stink!!
