from that video, I would advise tipping the lens lower than is shown on the video (on mine, it actually shows the two a pillars). The main reason for doing this though is due to the auto exposure. If the main portion of the video is sky (and you dont really need a video of birds and planes), the camera will attempt to balance out the exposure making the view in front darker than it needs to be. The lovely blue sky may be overexposed, but at least you will be able to read that number plate of the car in front a little more clearly.

Seems my refund was refunded as credit to my LITB account on the 16th, I've just had to withdraw the funds to be debited to my paypal account instead, which takes another 4 days.

Why do these things always happen to me?

Anyone else?

Aha. Cheers for sharing that top-tip...
I've just checked my LITB link, but nothing obvious was showing.

However following the above tip-off I searched under 'My Rewards and Credit' - and saw that £11.12 was sat there!
Have just clicked the withdrawal request - so in 3-4 days hopefully all good.

That is good to hear.

So if anyone is still waiting for their refund, make sure you check your 'Rewards and Credit' section under your account.

Refund (for duty and fees) received into PayPal acct today!
Fair play to LITB, they have refunded the additional charges.
Thanks for updates from others - much appreciated and good to know that it wasn't just me.

I now just need to find some time over xmas to work out how to set up the unit - doubtless I'll be back on here soon to ask for help!

The other half has taken the parcel which I bought for me, to wrap and give back to me for xmas. Thus instructions are currently locked away.

Therfore any recommendations for which micro SD card please folks?

I've seen (but not sure how true) that some dash cams are not compatible with all SD cards, potentially sandisk in this case. And could be issues with size above 32Gb?

I'm thinking of a kingston 32gb class 10 - or are there better alternatives?

Cheers.

I shall probably setup it up wired in ... by pulling the ciggy lighter apart and soldering wires onto the PCB and hard wiring it into an ignition controlled point and running the wire across behind the glovebox and up behind the pillar trim and back across the head lining ( like i've done on the CDTi and the V8)
Happy Xmas all .
