The loo was outside attached to the shed in it's own building. It was okay in the summer but in the winter, you got given a torch and there was always wellies and a coat by the back door. The chamber pot was for emergencies if you had to go in the night!

A torch - that was a bit technical - all we had was a stable lamp and two bits of wood to rub together to get a spark
