Default wouldn't catch a Rover/MG driver doing that

How'do folks

i watched a couple of vids on youtube this mad trend of mainly younger guys, spending money, working on their cars - then sitting on the brake doing burnouts or continous donuts and destroying their engine/clutch/gearbox etc.. - even just tyres

i thought you wouldn't find a Rover/Mg driver doing such mindless acts resulting in unnecessary excessive wear at the very least i did

first in this vid

*the following link is rated 18 due to the last word spoken being a swear word*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHODxa4lz4o

then i wonder if the culprits in this video are members here ?
the v8 does sound lovely and nothing wrong with treating yourself to a spirited take-off from junction (once a year) but why i'm sure the v6 burned his clutch pretty Good - took thousands of miles off at the very least

I wonder if either of the cars in the last clip still exist ?

And if they have new owners who knew how they were treated ?

Some people just aren't fit to have a decent piece of engineering.

Wonder if they try to burn out their vacuum cleaner/washing machine/'leccy drill?

Idiots

As Ian says it's been posted quite a few times previously.

That's "Jowett" aka Greg in the V8 and his brother in the V6, I've not run across either of the for some time. They both used to attend the North West meets that were held at the Romper at the time.

Greg bought the V8 new just after MGR went bust, he kept in a lovely condition, very low mileage, absolutely spotless including parts you don't normally see. The last time I came across him, probably 4 years ago at the local B & Q, he had it up for sale.

The V6 had been saved from the scrap yard by the brothers and was being used a a daily driver, indeed I met Greg's brother a year or so ago and he still had it.

The story of the video; they had just finished sorting the V6 out, both the V6 and the V8 were in need of new tyres so they thought they's have a bit of fun......

Can't see a problem myself.

Just been doing a little bit of investigating on these two. The V6 (GK53 HZR) is taxed and tested and had done 36,930 miles at its last MOT on 7th Oct 2016. A few minor advisories over the years but no failures.

The V8 (M6 GVJ) is currently on SORN but still has a valid MOT which was done at 63,630 miles on 10th Nov 2015. It too has had a few advisories along the way and it failed its first MOT on the registration plates - probably because the '6' of the M6 had been made to look like a G.

We have kids in their 1.0 litre hot rods come into our factory car park on weekends doing all sorts of crazy stunts and spins as out car park is testament to sheets of rubber left behind on the tarmac. The estate has a long straight road down its centre where they drag race along, hitting the odd curb and lamppost periodically

Never understand why you'd buy a car put some plastic skirts on it and think wow I've got a hot rod now

I suspect it just all comes to easy to them these days, sadly though life is not cheap.

Google 'kermit 260' and see the you tube clips of the previous owner giving kermit a good thrashing.
