Default Its too easy to say HGF.

Garage advised its the head gasket but I didnt think so. Got home and put the car on ramps today to get a good look at what caused the coolant loss.As you can see from pics the culprit is corrosion on the hard pipes running along the bottom end of the radiator in two places and at the top of hard pipe towards the top end of radiator. There is also a pink colouring on the radiator top end so looks like it has had some fluid to block leaks put in at some point before I bought it but it seems bone dry at present.Glad I looked instead of heading for the usual HGF route. I wonder how many 75s have had HGF given as the reason of coolant loss when in fact it was something else. They then possibly replace head gasket only for it to blow again as a result of original problem not being sorted?

Does any one know the part numbers for these and is there a how to to fit / drain coolant etc.

This is on a water loss thread as well by mistake who can I ask to remove it

That's the cart before the horse. The reality is HGF always follows coolant loss, it doesn't precede it.

Most garages shouting HGF at a V6 probably haven't seen one before.
