Something like this might be easier than using the beams in your garage roof, if doing a clutch change - the bonnet doesn't get in the way

Ian the bathroom scales packed up today, so after effecting a repair I checked the gearbox I have in the garage and it comes in just shy of 40kg.

I must be stronger than I thought.

Hi Ian,
I know I mentioned this in the PM I sent to you, but so anybody else following this thread can see
The big handles on that support beam are good enough to adjust the height of whatever is hung from it.
I used one support bar to support the gearbox end of the engine, and the other to support the gearbox, meaning you can fine tune the heights to get everything lined up nicely (and take a tea break in the middle too )
