Provided you have kept them correctly inflated and they are undamaged, to degrade like this in only a period of 22 months and only 13,000 miles for a tyre brand and model that is not a 'budget' one shows your tyres are not fit for purpose.

I don't expect them to roll over, but if you are firm without being offensive or abusive, persistent and put everything in writing to Head Office if necessary, I have found that in similar, but not the same, circumstances either a full refund/replacement or an allowance has been granted. (BTW, I am not one of those people who always 'try it on', however, if I buy a quality item I expect it to do what it is meant to.)

They look like they've sat in the sun for a decade - very poor for a tyre that young. I wouldn't be confident driving on those - most likely result is shedding tread and a blowout - It doesn't really matter how slow you're going when that happens. Get them changed and pursue a claim for them.

** I am assuming that they are correctly sized and rated (no reason to believe otherwise)

WOW.---That long ago.---

Mind you, in those days the tyres were solid anyway.---

Most of our journeys are local and the occasional round trip to Cambridge. Motorway speed averages 70mph. Had one Dunlop replaced due to a puncture with diffferent make. Normal tyre pressure front 30 rear 28. I expect I will replace as I really don't have the confidence to continue with these.
Many thanks

What he said, also they are far too new to end up in such a poor state, they need changing for safety, but go back to fitters and discuss with them, insist they communicate with supplier.

Sadly not unheard of for Dunlops to go after such a short time.

A family member had a pair perish in a similar manner after 3 years (tyres 4 years from manufacture) and around 11,000 miles.

They shouldn't be suffering from old age, perished, with that date on them. I would be inclined to contact Dunlop and see what they have to say about the problem.

I have known much older tyres than that be absolutely fine, show no signs of perishing.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I agree.
The tyres have no business degrading to that extent in our generally temperate climate.
Be polite but firm, when you take the car back to wherever you bought the tyres from & complain about the state they're in.

That's disgraceful that tyres of that age are degrading already, especially from a "premium" brand! For safety's sake get them removed as their performance will also be diminished and they're only going to get worse, and very quickly by the look of things.

I bought a Mondeo a few years ago and I had two rear tyres like that, took car to garage and tyre fitter said the 2 tyres were 9 years old and although they had hardly worn they were perished, hence the cracked look. I had 2 new ones fitted and the mechanic showed me the inside of the tyres he took off and it was even worse bits of rubber were starting to crumble and had cracks in the rubber like the grand canyon.....

I've seen something similar but on Maxxis tyres which are more mid-range products.
You're in Bulgaria - one thing you don't have control over is shipment and storage so although the tyres were 'new' the handling could be questionable i.e. sat around somewhere in a container for 3-5 months - in summer that could cause no end of problems for the rubber mix. If you can get back to the original seller they might do a trace and be sympathetic but as it's now getting on for 3 years ago don't hold your breath.
