As for F/B v car club forums in general, F/B offers so much more; old school friends, old and existing workmates, relatives and even nice looking French ladies who have no friends but ask me to be theirs.......

Each have their plus points though and fulfill different roles for different people. Each to their own.
I had a friend request the other day from a young who had pulled up her T Shirt, she was very revealing. Now where do you see that happening on here

I suppose it comes down to what you want from a club membership, I will always pick a forum over farcebook, I have seen far too much trouble caused because of that site. I want no part of it at all, when the day arrives that all forum traffic ceases in favour of Facebook I'll just move onto a hands on interest instead of an online one.

Colvey long time no see I hope you are well and taking the pills, mine seem to help

You can't compare Facebook to this club, as FB is a different concept and works so differently. I had problems signing into .org a few months ago even though I have been a member since 2004, yet it did not recognise my password, so I had a bit of fun and created a new identity "Shawn of the Sheep" I didn't get very far, so decided to call it a day.

This club continues to grow with new members every day. At the weekend there is another National Meet and it will prove to be successful. I believe the formula works. I can't see a decline myself, but ultimately this forum is for enthusiasts like yourself, old and new. We are a friendly bunch, you should really visit more often, as I look forward to seeing your posts, you know a lot about engines

Positive thoughts John

Not sure why the comparisons are needed, enjoy and make use of what we have whilst we've still got it.........use it or lose it as they say

It still seems busy to me on here, unlike other forums which appear like Ghost Towns , you can almost see the tumbleweed rolling by between the posts

In defence of FaceBook, I use it to communicate with friends and family around the world. MG Rover South East is successful and works for me, when ever I am in London. Also a member of MG World, some car part exchange groups, a pussy cat admiration fraternity and that is about it. I have no plans to leave any of them.

I will add, I am not into playing 'Farm Animal Saga' on FB.... Please, please anyone reading, no more invitations.

Thankfully I have a life beyond the internet.

Certain sub groups within FB were quite divisive against this club, some members and moderators. You might remember this Richard, the dark days of the trolls, imposters, interlopers, or banned members with a grudge. The less said the better, as they deserve no credit.

Those facebook invites to play various games. Do they come from the members themselves or is it just facebook trying to draw you in. I seem to get lots of them.

I've just stopped them from sending me E-Mails to log in.---

The numbers of Friends and Family keep growing.---

Teignmouth, Devon has a population of, maybe, 10,000

I find that I'm related to something like half of them!!!!---

I use FB & am in a couple of the 75 group's. I don't ask for information on there though as l think that there's far more technical knowledge on here. It's mainly aesthetic matters over there. 'Let's see pictures of your rear end' & things like that.

As stated though, it's good for keeping up to date with friends & family, especially over long distances.
