My view is that the 4 little rubber contact patches are the last thing between you and a collision.

If you're not absolutely comfortable with them then get them changed.

Agree that it's worth getting back to the supplier/Dunlop for their comments.

Keep safe.

Andy.

Then ask that the faulty ones be retained for inspection by Dunlop..

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I had a similar issue with a pair of new hankooks. Started minor cracking across both tyres after only a shirt period of using them.
Hankook weren't interested, tried repeatedly to get hold of the Quality/returns chap. All emails went unanswered and phone calls kept ringing out or he was out of the office.
In the end i advertised them with what was wrong with them, some chap bought them and didn't give two hoots about the condition of them.

Thank you for this comment.

Am I likely to consider Hankooks when mine come up for replacement?????

Erm......

No.

I quite understand that stuff goes wrong, things don't go according to plan et.etc. The critical bit is what happens next.

The business that listens then does its best to sort it out and put it "right" will get my business for a long time.

Those that don't won't see me again, ever. Hence I'll never buy another FIAT.

Andy.

what do the tyre people reckon on it? a tyre place could inspect them free of charge and let you know. I was told by the guy who sold me the Volvo V70 that my front NS tyre would need changing before the MOT. I got it checked and they reckoned it was OK for a few more thousands of miles. It subsequently passed its MOT with that tyre. So, get someone who sees tyres often to give you an opinion.

I'm only going on my own experiences, but tyres seem to degrade a lot faster than they used to. Modern tyre compounds are much more advanced than ever but they also age quicker.

I have a set of Toyo tyres on one of my old cars purchased by me in 2003 and they've only covered 1500 miles. Now, they have been in a garage all that time and have had a miniscule amount of use, yet are rock hard and perished. But in my shed I have some part worn Pirelli P7s and a couple of Michelin TRXs, all from the late eighties and to be honest, are in great shape in comparison. The 4 year old Primewells (not fitted by me I must add) on the front of my ZT-T aren't exactly looking their best already.

Or is it just me
